Waziup e.V. participated in Shaping AI Futures Across Africa and Europe, an international ecosystem event held at the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) in Turin, Italy. The event brought together more than 200 participants from African and European innovation ecosystems for a day of pitching, collaboration, and business matchmaking.

As part of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development Innovators, Waziup joined discussions and networking sessions focused on strengthening partnerships and accelerating the development and adoption of sustainable AI solutions across Africa and Europe.

The event provided a platform for innovators, industry leaders, researchers, investors, and institutional partners to explore collaboration opportunities across several key areas, including:

Sustainable AI infrastructure and green computing.

Climate innovation and energy systems.

Education, digital skills, and capacity building.

Cross-border research, technology development, and business partnerships.

A central theme of the discussions was the importance of moving beyond fragmented innovation efforts towards coordinated partnerships that connect governments, energy providers, connectivity actors, technology companies, researchers, and startups.

Convened following the Nairobi AI Forum and the AI Impact Summit in Delhi, the event builds on the momentum of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development and aligns with the Italy–Africa Mattei Plan. It reinforces the shared ambition to move from AI innovation and co-design towards practical implementation, investment, and scalable impact.

For Waziup, the gathering was an important opportunity to strengthen connections with African and European partners, explore new opportunities for collaboration, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of responsible and sustainable AI.

We look forward to building on these engagements and continuing to support inclusive digital innovation and meaningful Africa–Europe partnerships.
