What could agricultural innovation achieve with better satellite and sensor data? Through the KijaniSpace project, Waziup and its partners are inviting innovative SMEs and start-ups in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to participate in the Space-IoT Innovation Programme.
The programme targets organisations that already have an agriculture-related product, service or application and are looking to enhance its capabilities through Copernicus Earth Observation data, IoT data and Space-IoT Box resources.
Selected teams will receive support to experiment with new technologies, validate improvements with users and strengthen their solutions. The programme offers up to €5,000 in funding, alongside training, mentorship and business support.
Potential application areas include crop monitoring, irrigation, aquaculture, disease alerts and climate services, demonstrating how combining satellite data with ground-based IoT technologies can support more informed and responsive agricultural solutions.
Through KijaniSpace, Waziup is contributing to efforts that connect space technologies, IoT innovation and entrepreneurship to address agricultural challenges across East Africa.
