Under the theme “Harnessing Space-IoT Technologies for Climate-Smart Agriculture and Aquaculture in the Lake Victoria Basin,” the two-day workshop focused on building a shared understanding of regional challenges, familiarizing participants with KijaniSpace technologies and the KijaniBox concept, and encouraging collaborative ideation and co-design of technology-based solutions.
Organized by the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), LakeHub, Africa Bioenergy Program Limited, Mwalimu Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MNUAT), and KijaniSpace consortium partners, the workshop provided a platform for stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration. At Waziup, we are proud to support this initiative, which brings together partners across the region to harness Space-IoT technologies for more resilient and sustainable farming communities.
The workshop marks an important step towards strengthening innovation ecosystems, promoting climate-smart agriculture and aquaculture, and creating opportunities for sustainable green jobs across East Africa.
