Waziup e.V. and Waziup IoT are contributing to the KijaniCooling project, an initiative advancing sustainable waste-to-energy solutions to support Africa’s green transition.

During the consortium’s second annual meeting, held at Technische Universität Dresden from 27–29 October 2025, partners from Africa and Europe reviewed project progress and discussed the next steps towards deploying innovative biodigester and cooling solutions. As part of the project, Waziup is leading the development of a supervisory platform for smart energy monitoring and management of the biodigester system. The platform will support improved monitoring and management of energy-related operations.

Discussions also covered biodigester system optimization, local manufacturing and assembly at African pilot sites, market development, stakeholder engagement, and community building. Through collaboration across Kenya, Uganda, and Senegal, KijaniCooling aims to transform organic waste into renewable energy while supporting local communities and promoting circular economies.

Waziup is proud to contribute its IoT expertise to this initiative and looks forward to advancing digital solutions that support sustainable energy development across Africa.
