After two years of collaboration and implementation, the KijaniSpace consortium convened in Mwanza, Tanzania, for its Month 24 General Assembly, bringing together partners to reflect on achievements and define priorities for the year ahead.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across key project areas, including technology development, talent and innovation programmes, agricultural and water-monitoring applications, communication, exploitation and replication.

A key priority emerging from the discussions was the transition from project outputs towards validation, uptake and long-term impact. This includes advancing the Space-IoT Box, validating pilot applications, strengthening skills development and identifying pathways for replication and EU–AU cooperation.

With one year of implementation remaining, the focus is increasingly on translating the project’s results into sustainable capabilities. By connecting Copernicus Earth Observation, IoT technologies, skills development and partnerships, KijaniSpace aims to build solutions and capacities that can continue creating value beyond the project’s lifetime.

As a project partner, Waziup remains committed to contributing to this next phase of implementation and supporting the development of practical Space-IoT applications for agriculture and water monitoring across East Africa.
